The PCB Management Committee reportedly made the decision to fire the entire administration responsible for Pakistan cricket, including Chief Selector Mohammad Wasim.
It was announced on Wednesday that Najam Sethi, with the blessing of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, will be taking over as head of the management committee.
During the 120 days leading up to the elections mandated by the 2014 constitution, the government, which is led by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), appointed a 14-member committee headed by Sethi to monitor PCB operations.
The PCB’s 2019 constitution will be replaced with the 2014 laws after approval from the cabinet.
Meanwhile, it has been reported by reliable sources that the PCB’s management committee has informed all members of the governing body that they have been terminated from their positions as of the 2019 constitution’s effective date.
On Thursday afternoon, Mohammad Wasim was informed that the 2019 constitution had nullified his appointment as chief selector.
There will also be new Women’s Selection Committee and Junior Selection Committee members appointed.
