Bannu Operation: soldier succumbs to injuries at hospital

RAWALPINDI: A soldier, who participated in the Bannu Operation at the Counter Terrorism Department compound, has succumbed to his injuries at CMH Rawalpindi, while under treatment.

The media wing of armed forces, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday said soldier Abdul Haleem Khan got critically wounded during clearance operation in Bannu. He was being treated at the CMH Rawalpindi, the ISPR said.

29 years old Abdul Haleem Khan belonged to Azad Kashmir’s Ponch district. He is survived by three children.

Meanwhile, PM Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday met officers and soldiers at the CMH Rawalpindi who got injured during the recent Bannu Operation at the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) complex.

PM Shehbaz paid tribute to courage and valour of the troops who cleared the CTD complex, Bannu, media wing of the armed forces, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported.

The prime minister said that the martyrs and their families had rendered supreme sacrifices for ensuring safety and security of people of Pakistan.

PM Shehbaz said, “We are determined to fight out terrorism in its all forms and manifestations and breaking nexus between terrorists, their supporters and sympathisers till achieving peaceful and stable environment.”

He said writ of the state would be established at all cost and no one would be allowed to derail the hard earned gains of war on terror achieved through unparalleled sacrifices of the nation and valiant armed forces , the PM said.
