ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan on Thursday said 0.75 million Pakistanis had left the country during last few months after losing the hope.
In an address, Imran Khan said Pakistan’s remittances, tax collection, exports and industry was descending. “While our industry was rebounding upwards in PTI’s government. You may ask any sector where it was during our tenure and where it is now,” he said adding that Pakistan was going into a quagmire and hope had vanished.
He said earlier they would challenge to dissolve the assemblies and when he announced to dissolve them they brought no-confidence and confidence motions in a bid to stop it. “It is our constitutional right to dissolve the Punjab Assembly,” he said.

The PTI chief said despite having government in 66 per cent of the country, they wanted to dissolve the assemblies because the speed at which Pakistan was moving towards destruction would be uncontrollable. “I am telling this to all our institutions including judiciary, military and bureaucrats. This is not just Imran Khan’s war,” he said.
“You can check online that the government which was toppled had the most growth rate, up to 6 per cent, in Pakistan’s history,” he said.
He said one person wanted to dismantle the PTI government. He said such mistreatment they faced as if they were some traitors, just because they were not accepting the group of thieves which had been imposed on the country.
“All those who were considered to be supporting the PTI were tortured and harassed, including Bol News anchorpersons Jameel Farooqui and Arshad Sharif as well as social media activists. What not was done to gag us including inappropriate video and audio leaks.
“When all the tactics failed, then they decided to kill me to remove from the way,” he blamed.
He said terrorism was increasing in the country and cross border attacks were being carried out. He said their government, which was closest to the Afghan government, helped people of the world to evacuate from Afghanistan after the US left.
He said the man who had been made foreign minister had spent 1.75 billion rupees on his foreign tours, but he still did not go to Kabul which was essential for us for its being our immediate neighbor.
Imran Khan said the biggest problem facing Pakistan was that powerful was not being held accountable.
“We paid special attention and developed the tribal areas, which has been stopped by the federal government and now resultantly it is boosting the terrorism,” he said.
The former PM said election was the only solution to all the problems. He said through the NAB amendment they had given license to the white collar crimes. He said, “They do corruption, flee abroad and then they take NRO and return to the country.”
“I once again ask all the institutions if they worry about the country or not. I ask those whose stake is within in the country, not the ones whose stakes are abroad. Economic stability cannot come, until political stability is achieved. Businessmen and traders have lost the confidence,” he maintained.
