“Doesn’t it look like a UFO. The light has vanished,” one local posted on Twitter.

“People are scared of what is this. We didn’t listen to any sound like aircraft totally silent we see only light, sometimes after it disappeared in the sky,” remarked another.
There were claims of night trials of the Agni-V nuclear capability, an intercontinental ballistic missile, which fueled speculation that it was a missile.
Officials have now provided an explanation for the unexplained light that emerged and disappeared in the night sky above West Bengal.
An inquiry by officials showed that the beam of light could have been caused by military rocket testing from the adjacent Bay of Bengal.
According to reports, the missiles tested have a three-stage solid-fuelled engine capable of attacking targets at ranges of up to 5,000 kilometres.
According to some sources, the test was conducted amid rising border tensions between India and China in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang area.
However, not everyone was convinced by the explanations and rumours linking the light to a missile test.
