Pakistan Navy has started its construction work on the first MILGEM-class ship in Turkey.
The inaugural ceremony to resume the project took place at Istanbul Naval Shipyard.
The state-of-the-art ship will be equipped with modern weaponry and sensors.
Two of the four ships will be constructed at Karachi shipyard, under the transfer of technology agreement between Pakistan and Turkey.

A spokesperson of the Pakistan Navy said that the domestic construction of the ships will help promote the shipbuilding industry.
The construction of MILGEM-class ships reflects the strong bonds that exist between Pakistan and Turkey, the spokesperson added.
