Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan will address the protest being held in front of Punjab Governor House at 5pm on Thursday against the illegal and unconstitutional measures of the governor.

PTI leader and Spokesperson for Punjab Chief Minister Musarrat Jamshed Cheema in a tweet urged the party’s workers, supporters and general public to join the protest.

She said that no unconstitutional step would be allowed to succeed.

Meanwhile, PTI leaders Fawad Hussain and Hamad Azhar told the media outside of the Zaman Park in Lahore on Wednesday night that the political situation is very serious and rapidly changing, adding that the PDM government is running away from the elections.

Fawad maintained that Punjab governor has violated the Article-109 and that is way the Punjab Assembly Speaker has termed the governor’s steps unconstitutional as there is the decision of Lahore High Court regarding Manzoor Wattoo case.

The members of parliament have expressed their confidence in Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.

He blamed the PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari for offering Rs50 million to women legislators to support the PDM in no-trust motion.

He demanded the Punjab government to ban the entry of Zardari and his cronies in the province.

Fawad said that the assemblies would be dissolved soon after the failure of no-confidence motion on Friday.

The PTI leader further said if the Punjab Assembly speaker writes a letter to the President of Pakistan so the governor of Punjab could be removed.

He remarked if Dost Mazari, dissident MPA of the PTI and former deputy speaker of Punjab Assembly, does not contact the party, a reference could be sent against him to the Election Commission of Pakistan for his disqualification.

He said that all MPAs would be present in the protest before the Governor House.
