At least 20 wounded in Khuzdar blast

KHUZDAR: At least 20 people have been injured in Khuzdar blast on Monday in Balochistan.

Bol News quoted sources as saying that the blast took place near Omar Farooq Chowk area of Khuzdar district. All the wounded persons were shifted to Khuzdar Teaching Hospital, they said. Three of the injured were in critical condition.

Sources said the bomb was planted on a motorcycle. Security has been put on high alert across the city, while security forces have arrived and cordoned off the site of the incident.

On December 15, President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had strongly condemned the suicide blast in Miranshah, Noth Waziristan that left security personnel and a civilian dead.

In their separate statements, both had vowed to eliminate terrorism and extremism from the country.

President Alvi had said the entire nation was committed to fighting terrorism.

Prime Minister Sharif had said those killing innocent people could not be regarded as Muslims. The terrorists were acting on the will of anti-state elements, he had added.

The president and the prime minister had prayed for the souls of Havaldar Muhammad Ameer and a civilian who had lost their lives in the terror incident.

Both had paid tribute to the sacrifices rendered by security personnel for the safety of the homeland.

Two people including a Pakistan Army soldier had been martyred in a suicide blast in North Waziristan while several others were injured. A suicide blast had occurred in the Miran Shah, North Waziristan District.

Resultantly, a 30-year old Havaldar Muhammad Ameer resident of Mianwali had embraced martyrdom.
