Prince Harry says that his family was “happy to lie to protect” Prince William, but they didn’t do anything to help him.

The official trailer for the second half of Netflix’s “Harry & Meghan” shows the Duke of Sussex and his wife, Meghan Markle, thinking about their decision to quit their jobs and run away to California. They call their plane’s departure from the UK a “freedom flight.”

Harry, age 38, says, “To see this institutional gaslighting,” and then the camera cuts to Markle, age 41, who says, “I wasn’t thrown to the wolves, I was fed to the wolves.”

The trailer also says that the royal family was “practically recruiting people” to spread false stories about the couple.

Harry says, “They were happy to lie to protect my brother, but they never told us the truth.”

The new clip then shows footage and photos of the Sussexes and their two children, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1, living a happy life in Montecito, where they now live.

Markle says, “It gave us a chance to build the home we had always wanted.”

Harry says, “I’ve always thought this was a fight worth fighting for.”

Even though the trailer made it seem like the two wanted to leave London because they didn’t have enough privacy and safety, they said that wasn’t true and that they never said that was the reason.

Harry and Markle recently told the New York Times through their press secretary, Ashley Hansen, “Their statement about their decision to step back says nothing about privacy and says again that they want to continue their roles and public duties.”

“Any suggestion to the contrary goes to the heart of this series,” the spokeswoman said.

“They’re choosing to tell their story on their own terms, but the tabloid media has made up a story that isn’t true at all, and it’s all over the news and public opinion. They can see the facts for themselves.”
