ISLAMABAD: A district and sessions court in Islamabad reserves verdict on the petition filed by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan regarding Toshakhana.

At the outset of the hearing, the ECP lawyer maintained that if any Toshakhana belongings were transferred then it was mandatory for Imran Khan to mention them in the statements.

“It is not possible to personally own an item from the Toshakhana without declaring it,” added the lawyer.
On the other hand, Lawyer Hassan said that Khan’s way of dealing with the Toshakhana gifts is tantamount to money laundering.

Election Commission counsel said that the Tehreek-e-Insaf government increased the amount to buy gifts from Toshakhana to 50% from 20%. Imran Khan failed to tell how much the watch was finally resold.

He also said that Imran Khan deposited less than one-third of all the gifts in the Toshakhana.

The court after listening to the arguments reserved the verdict that will be announced on December 15.

Earlier, on November 22, the court took up the Toshakhana reference against Imran Khan for allegedly indulging in corrupt practices.
