LONDON: PML-Q leader and federal minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain met PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif in London and discussed the political situation.
Speaking to media after the meeting, the PML-Q leader said they discussed the past and current political situation. He said that everyone knows what has been going in politics.
He said his father Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain send his greetings to Nawaz Sharif and enquired about his well-being. He also conveyed an important message from his his father to Nawaz Sharif.
Salik Hussain said Moonis Elahi did not take Chaudhry Shujaat into confidence before going to the government. “Moonis Elahi can contact me whenever he wants, I have no problem,” he added.
The Federal Minister of the Board of Investment said the previous government had terminated the CPEC authority while leaving. He said that there was no personal agenda but for the betterment of the country.
He added that Nawaz Sharif has not given any final date regarding his return. Salik Hussain said he doesn’t think there is any intention to dissolve the assemblies right now.
He said in the upcoming action, the party will be led by Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain. Upon arrival, Chaudhry Salik Hussain was received by Hasan Nawaz on reaching his office
A day earlier, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said preparations have begun to welcome the PML-N chief back to Pakistan and the people of Punjab are ready to welcome him.
Rana Sanaullah further said the former prime minister’s return would decide the results of the election in Punjab and the PTI would face defeat.
Regarding the party’s election campaign, the PML-N leader said the party has divided nine divisions of Punjab into three parts.
He said committees have been formed to meet party leaders and nominate two candidates in each constituency within two weeks. He further said that committees would also be formed at the union council level for Nawaz’s return.
“This welcome will also decide the fate of the election. When the election is announced, Mian Nawaz Sharif will return back to lead the party in the elections.”
The minister asserted that general elections would take place in October 2023. He dared Imran Khan to dissolve assemblies and said the provincial elections will take place within 90 days.
