Sindh IG says police need surveillance equipment, weapons for operation in Kachcha

KARACHI: Sindh Inspector General Ghulam Nabi Memon on Friday said police needed surveillance equipment and modern weapons for an organized operation in Kachcha area of the province.

Responding to a question asked by Bol News, Ghulam Nabi memon said the government had been requested to set bounty on 300 suspects of the Kachcha area. He said a notification regarding their head money had to be issued.

“We have fulfilled the requirement of number of police officials and took the best available weapons to the area,” he said adding that it was more effective, when the operation was done on the basis of intelligence. He said all the raids carried out on tip-offs were effective.

“The operation which is carried out without a strategy does not yield good results,” he said.

Meanwhile, Sindh Police have arrested PTI Senator Azam Swati in a case relating to making controversial statements against state institutions.

Sindh Police reached Quetta to arrest the senior politicians stating that 13 cases have been registered against Azam Swati in various police station across the province. Swati was taken into custody and is expected to be brought to Karachi.

Two more cases have also surfaced against Azam Swati. An FIR registered on November 26 in Winder and Lasbela have been brought to light against the senior politician.

Azam Swati was released despite being ordered by the Balochistan High Court and was kept in custody before being handed over Sindh Police.
