It should be mentioned that England won the toss and used their depth of batting to great advantage to win the first Test on Monday by 74 runs on a dead Rawalpindi pitch that offered little to the bowlers.

However, Multan might offer more spin if previous domestic matches give any indication, despite not hosting a Test match in 16 years.

The third-highest total in Test history, Rawalpindi’s 1,768 runs in four innings included seven individual hundreds and five 50s.

However, Multan favoured spinners in the most recent first-class game played there, with former Test spinner Yasir Shah picking up five wickets in each innings.

A fog advisory has been issued by the regional government for the upcoming days, which can cut into game time. The Test match will also take bag light into consideration.
