LAHORE: An accountability court in Lahore has extended the bail of former Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar till December 19 in the abuse of power case.
Accountability court judge Naseem Ahmed heard the case of misuse of power by Usman Buzdar involving the alleged issuance of a liquor license.
Usman Buzdar appeared before the court. NAB prosecutor informed the court that an arrest warrant for Buzdar has not been issued yet.
The accountability court judge asked whether the arrest of Usman Buzdar is required or not. Usman Buzdar’s lawyer responded by saying that it is not known whether the arrest is required or not.
The court then extended the bail of the former CM of Punjab till December 19.
Earlier, an accountability court on Saturday barred National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from arresting former Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar in assets beyond means case.
The PTI leader had approached the court seeking interim bail in assets beyond means case launched against him by the anti-graft watchdog. The court ordered him to submit surety bonds of Rs500,000 for the bail.
