JHELUM: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader and former federal minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Thursday said the governments of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab would dissolve assemblies next week, Bol News reported.
Talking to media, after inaugurating Dina-Mangla By-pass in Jhelum, Fawad Chaudhry said the PTI had decided to hold elections in Punjab and KP before March 20. Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb should try harder to stop them, he maintained.
Earlier, they would ask the PTI to dissolve the assemblies and when the party had decided to dissolve the assemblies the government’s tone had changed, he said. “Whether you bring the no-confidence motion or take vote of confidence, In sha Allah, elections will be held,” he said.

Fawad said on December 2 and 3 cabinet meetings would be held. He said elections would be held as per the plan.
Meanwhile, Rana Sanaullah on Thursday said that the incumbent coalition government would respond according to the Constitution in case the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assemblies were dissolved before completion of the term.
Addressing a press conference here, the minister said that the government would review all options in line with the constitutional provisions, if the provincial assemblies were dissolved, which might delay in conduct of elections or participation in elections of both assemblies. “We are not afraid of elections and will participate in it if these are conducted,” he added.
The minister said that the coalition parties would use all the available constitutional options to stop the dissolution of the Punjab and KP assemblies.
