CJ IHC takes oath from three new judges

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Aamir Farooq on Thursday administered oath from three new judges for their posting as permanent members.

Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq, Justice Arbab Tahir, and Justice Saman Riffat took oath during a ceremony organised inside the premises of IHC.

The event was attended by a large number of lawyers, judges, and other personalities.

After the oath-taking ceremony, the new judges started performing their duties in their courts.

Earlier, The President, the Parliamentary Committee, and the Judicial Commission approved the permanent appointment of the three judges after which the Ministry of Law and Justice issued a notification for their permanent appointment.

 

On the other hand, Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) has fixed the contempt of court case against former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

A five-member larger bench headed by Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial will hear case on December 2 (tomorrow) including Justice Ijazul Ahsan, Justice Munib Akhtar, and Justice Yahya Afridi.

Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi will also be part of the five-member bench.
