Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai has announced to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Sunday, May 24.
According to details, the non-governmental committee of Masjid Qasim Khan has announced to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on May 24 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Mufti Popalzai wrote in a post on social networking site Twitter that the 30th fast will be observed on Saturday (May 23).
A meeting of the local non-governmental Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was held under the chairmanship of Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai at Qasim Ali Khan Mosque to sight the Shawwal moon.

Earlier on May 21 Fawad Chaudhry, Federal Minister for Science and Technology said that that Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday (May 24).
While speaking to a TV channel, the federal minister said that the calendar has been prepared by the ministry of science and technology, Eid will be celebrated on May 24 in many countries including Pakistan.

Fawad Chaudhry also said that this year Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on May 24, 2020 in Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and other parts of the world.
The federal minister also retweeted a tweet on micro blogging website, Twitter.
It is to be noted that a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be organized in Karachi on Saturday (May 23) for Shawwal moon sighting.
This isn’t the first time Chaudhry has locked horns with Pakistan’s moon-sighting committee. Last year, he announced that his ministry would make an Islamic calendar with Eid, Ramazan and Muharram dates pre-decided before the official announcement.
