LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan has expedited preparations ahead of the party’s rally in Rawalpindi on November 26, BOL News reported.
The PTI chief called party leaders to coordinate on making the long march successful. A meeting was also held at his residence at Zaman Park where preparations for the rally were reviewed.
Imran Khan has contacted party leaders to communicate the strategy for the protest in Rawalpindi. The party has already called on party activists and supporters to reach latest by Nov 25.
According to reports, Imran Khan will reach Rawalpindi via helicopter on November 26. The party had submitted a request to land the helicopter at Parade Ground which has not been approved.
Sources revealed that the decision to stay in Rawalpindi would be made on the spot. The PTI chief has ordered MPAs and MNAs to bring workers to the rally. The party has instructed every lawmaker to bring at least 2000-3000 workers to the protest.
The PTI Chief also ordered to have foolproof security for the rallies. It has also been decided to set up a tent city in Rawalpindi for the participants if the party decided to stage a prolonged sit-in.
The provincial ministers for Rawalpindi would be responsible for hosting the rallies coming from across the country. The caravans coming from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab leaders have been instructed to have sufficient food rations for three days.
The PTI Chief has ordered the party workers to reach Rawalpindi by November 25. PTI leader and Punjab Home Minister Umar Sarfraz Cheema briefed on the security of convoys and the security arrangements made in Rawalpindi. He said convoys from Central Punjab have been instructed to hear by morning of Nov 26.
The authorities have made strict security arrangements for the protection of Imran Khan in Zaman Park while surveillance is ongoing with the help of security cameras.
