Prime Minister’s Office has sent the summary of the appointment of Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the President.
In the summary, Haji Ghulam Ali, who belongs to the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal ur Rehman group, has been proposed to be the KP of the Governor.

Haji Ghulam Ali belongs to JUI(F), nominated by Maulana Fazal ur Rehman.
On the other hand, Maulana Fazal ur Rehman nominated Ghulam Ali for the post that had fallen vacant since Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Governor Shah Farman had stepped down soon after Shehbaz Sharif was sworn in as the prime minister in April earlier this year.
The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) led federal government has also agreed on the name of the former JUI-F senator.
Since Shah Farman’s resignation, KP Assembly Speaker Mushtaq Ghani has been serving as the acting governor of the province whereas Deputy Speaker Mahmood Jan was made the speaker of the provincial assembly.
