- Pakistan’s likely lineup to face Bangladesh in T20 World Cup 2022.
- Babar Azam-led team is unlikely to make any adjustments to the lineup from Thursday’s 33-run.
- Pakistan must defeat Bangladesh in order to advance to the semifinals.
Pakistan will take on Bangladesh in their final Super 12 match of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 in Adelaide on Sunday.
Babar Azam-led team is unlikely to make any adjustments to the lineup from Thursday’s 33-run (DLS) victory over South Africa.
According to top-order batsman Shan Masood, the team’s morale was raised by Pakistan’s ability to rally and defeat South Africa by a score of 185-9 after falling down by 43-4.
“It’s a good day. Even after the rain break, we continued to bowl well and maintained our momentum despite South Africa’s early dominance “Masood stated.
“We will thus concentrate on obtaining two points from the Bangladesh game, which is within our control. In this group, there will always be hope till the final ball is bowled “Added he.

Pakistan must defeat Bangladesh in order to advance to the semifinals, and they must also hope that other Group 2 teams’ results go their way.
Pakistan wants an unexpected victory by Zimbabwe or the Netherlands over their opponents, South Africa or India, respectively.
Pakistan would finish ahead of South Africa in the points standings and join India in the semifinals if they defeat Bangladesh on Sunday and the Netherlands upsets the Proteas against all odds.
Pakistan and India would tie on the points standings with six points each if Pakistan defeats Bangladesh and India loses to Zimbabwe. If so, Pakistan will go to the semifinals as they currently have a higher NRR than India (+1.117 vs. +0.730) and will so be eligible.
If Pakistan defeats Bangladesh and the match between South Africa and the Netherlands is called off, they will also advance.
South Africa would be limited to 6 points by the washout, although it would have less victories than Pakistan.
However, there is no rain expected in Adelaide on Sunday.
Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Babar Azam (c), Mohammad Haris, Shan Masood, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Wasim, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah are set to start for Pakistan against Bangladesh.
