ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday was moved for the postmortem report of the journalist Arshad Sharif – who was killed days back in Kenya.
Slain journalist Arshad Sharif’s mother Riffat Ara Alvi approached IHC for the postmortem report.
The petition filed in the court maintained that the family of the journalist demanded an autopsy report on November 3rd from the hospital administration.
The family of the deceased was informed that the police is having the document. Upon contact, the police refused and suggested the focal person should reach the administration of Pims hospital.
It was also said in the petition that the family has been contacting again and again but the administration of the hospital is acting deaf and mute.
“The family of the journalist is being snubbed for the report in their difficult time,” it added.
The petitioner, the mother of Arshad Sharif, also demanded that the family must be kept updated regarding the progress of the probe to keep it transparent. The petitioner also suspects that the post-mortem report can be altered to distort the facts.
The plea also maintained that the report should not be publicized without the family’s consent and the probe should be conducted without the influence of any third party.
