Royal Family to break tradition of Remembrance Day

  • Charles will wear a poppy wreath decorated with a broad ribbon bearing his racing colours.
  • Camilla had her own wreath made and it has the King’s colours of purple, red, and gold.
  • An equerry will lay the Queen Consort’s wreath at the Cenotaph.

According to the UK’s Daily Express, the British royal family will deviate from the Queen’s royal tradition for Remembrance Day.

On Remembrance Sunday later this month, Charles would use a different wreath to remember those who lost their lives in combat. Alongside him, the Queen Consort, the Prince and Princess of Wales, and others have had the opportunity to make their own wreaths for the first time.

According to The Telegraph, the King will wear a poppy wreath decorated with a broad ribbon bearing his racing colours.

Although Camilla had her own wreath made and it has the King’s colours of purple, red, and gold, she has chosen not to personally place it at the Cenotaph.

An equerry will lay the Queen Consort’s wreath, which will have the racing colours of her own family, as she observes from the balcony of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office building.

This choice is in line with the Queen Mother’s plan to view the wedding from the balcony.
