SHO, staff suspended for leaking video statement of alleged attacker

Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhary Parvez Elahi has suspended all the staff including the SHO of the police station concerned for leaking the video statement of the accused who fired on Imran Khan.

The Punjab chief minister has taken strict notice of the incident and directed the Inspector General of Police to take strict disciplinary action against the irresponsible officers.

All the mobile phones of the police station staff were seized, forensic audit of the mobile phones will be conducted.

Elahi ordered a complete inquiry into the incident and the investigation must bring the motives to light.

Later, Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi presided over an emergency meeting.

The shooting incident was fully reviewed in the meeting.

Inspector General Police, Speaker Punjab Assembly Sabtain Khan, Shafqat Mehmood, MPA Hafiz Ammar Yasir, Akhtar Malik, Mian Mahmood-ul-Rashid, Commissioner Lahore Division, CCPO Lahore and the officials concerned participated in the meeting.

Meanwhile, PTI Chairman Imran Khan has accused Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and of being involved in the murderous attack on him and demanded the removal of them from their offices.

In a video message, Asad Umar said that Imran is fine and asked him to issue a statement on his behalf that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah.

Imran demanded the registration of FIRs against the prime minister and interior minister and a third important person.

Umar said that he had warned Imran Khan of expected attacks and threats as such reports were coming.

Imran said that he was waging Jihad and would not withdraw from his stance, Umar said and added that Imran vowed to continue his fight these thieves.

Imran further said that the country can move forward in this way.
