A murder investigation was opened as a result of the death by stabbing of a 29-year-old man in Birmingham.
After 23:00 British Standard Time (BST) on Friday, West Midlands Police reported that paramedics “battled to save” an injured man who was located on Washington Drive in Handsworth Wood.
According to the police, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A manhunt has been launched to find the murderer, and the area has been sealed off.
The number of house-to-house inquiries and patrols that are being conducted has increased.
“We are in the very early stages of our enquiry and we are asking anyone with information who hasn’t already spoken to us,” said Det Insp Jim Mahon.
“The victim’s family have been informed and we have specialist family liaison officers with them after hearing this devastating news.”
