Homer Laffoon, Anne Heche’s oldest son, is requesting more access to the late actress’s property and other assets from the court.
In order to be able to “take control of money or other property of the estate,” Laffoon filed an application to “extend his authority” as special administrator of his mother’s estate, according to court records acquired by Page Six on Friday.
The 20-year-old claimed that because “tangible personal property” from the estate is still “placed in [Heche’s] flat,” the “powers are necessary prior to the next court hearing.”
In order to prevent further fees, expenses, and potential losses to the estate, according to Laffoon, the aforementioned personal property “has to be taken out of the apartment as quickly as feasible.”
He recently claimed that his mother left behind $400,000 when she passed away.
Laffoon furthermore informed the court that he “is aware of multiple cheques made payable to [Heche] that need to be negotiated, endorsed, and deposited into a bank account in the name of the estate in a timely way so that the checks are not canceled”
To “take possession of all the real and personal property” of his mother’s estate and protect it from “damage, waste, and injury,” Laffoon claimed that he would be able to do so by extending his authority.
Additionally, it would give him the power to “collect all claims, rents, and other income due to the estate,” “start, maintain, or defend actions and other legal procedures,” and “request and receive copies of [the estate’s] financial records.”
Laffoon further asserted that he would be able to “handle, perform, and enforce the rights and interests” connected to Heche’s upcoming book, “Call Me Anne,” with the help of the aforementioned desired powers.
Additionally, he is requesting an $800,000 bond.
