Toshakhana case: More details of verdict by ECP surfaced

ISLAMABAD: A few more details of the verdict announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) surfaced maintaining that statements provided by PTI Chief Imran Khan didn’t match the bank account details.

The detailed verdict of ECP holds that Imran Khan claimed that he purchased the gifts for over Rs 21.5 million however, the Cabinet has revealed that the gifts were worth over Rs 0.1billion.

It also said that the details of the PTI chief’s bank accounts were asked from the State Bank of Pakistan. The bank details revealed that at the end of 2018-19, Imran Khan had half of the amount of the value of the gifts.

“Imran Khan was obliged to give the details in the statements which he didn’t provide.”

The order said that the PTI chairman’s statements didn’t match the bank records and he didn’t elucidate on the matter.

It is pertinent to mention here that Imran Khan was announced disqualified by the ECP in the Toshakhana reference yesterday (Friday).
