Fresh Currency Notes will not be released for Eid-ul-Fitr

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced not to issue fresh currency notes for Eid-ul-Fitr this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

SBP issued a notification which stated that the central  bank will not release new currency notes on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr this year amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.

The decision has been taken by the head of COVID-19 committee of SBP as part of measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus outbreak.
