KARACHI: 15 years to the Karsaz incident and the victims and their families are still clueless as no progress has been made in the investigation so far.
The unfortunate incident – that claimed the lives of around 200 and injured more than 500 with twin blasts – took place on Oct 18, 2007, on the homecoming procession of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.
Benazir Bhutto remained safe while 177 people including 20 security personnel were martyred.
On this occasion, Chairman People’s Party, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has issued an important message.
He said that the role of the leaders and workers of the People’s Party is important in the struggle to restore and strengthen democracy.
“On October 18, 2007, the blood of 180 people was shed to sabotage the gathering of more than 30 lakh people in Karachi for the historic reception of Ms. Benazir Bhutto.”
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that every year on October 18, we remember our martyrs and share in the grief of their families, as well as make our young generation aware of our history and the struggles and sacrifices of the generations before them.
