ISLAMABAD: A plea was filed in the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) for the exhumation and post-mortem of TV host and politician Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain.
The petition was filed by Dania Bibi third wife of Aamir Liaquat Hussain against the High Court’s decision. She submitted that the Sindh High Court’s decision of September 12 should be annulled by reinstating the decision of the judicial magistrate.
Dania Bibi further requested that an order should be made to conduct the post-mortem of Aamir Liaquat Hussain. She submitted that decision of the Sindh High Court cannot be upheld in the eyes of the law as the court did not properly evaluate the evidence and facts.
She further submitted that the divorced wives of Aamir Liaquat Hussain do not want exhumation and post-mortem. It is important to know the reason for the death of Aamir Liaquat Hussain
The petitioner said being the wife of Aamir Liaquat and the heir after his death. She submitted that Aamir Liaquat’s children and wives have become illegal occupants of the property and wealth.
Additional Sessions Judge, magistrate, and Secretary Health Sindh among others have been made parties in the petition.

Earlier, The Sindh High Court (SHC) had rejected all the pleas requesting the postmortem of the anchorperson Aamir Liaquat Hussain. He died on June 9 in Karachi.
The Sindh High Court upheld the decision of Additional District while rejecting all the petitions related to the post-mortem of Dr. Aamir Liaquat.
It is pertinent to mention here that Liaquat died in Karachi a few months ago and no cause of his death was revealed. The heirs of the media person opposed the postmortem and the burial took place without an autopsy.
