Sindh Govt decides to conduct a joint survey in flood-hit areas

  • Joint survey in  flood-affected areas of Sindh will be started from  September 26.
  • Sohail Rajput said that in the first phase survey will be started in Sukkur, Ghotki, and Kashmore districts
  • He said a joint survey is necessary for a comprehensive plan of rehabilitation of affected people

 

KARACHI: The Sindh government has decided to conduct a joint survey of the flood-affected areas and the survey will be launched on September 26.

A meeting was held under the supervision of Chief Secretary Sindh Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput and it was decided to conduct a joint survey to estimate the damages in the flood-affected areas.

In the meeting, Chief Secretary Sohail Rajput said that the district administration, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA),  and Pakistan Army will be involved in the survey. A survey committee has been formed at the Union Council level for the joint survey.

He said that a district committee has also been formed for the damage caused in each district, and a joint survey of the life and financial loss will be conducted in the affected areas.

Sohail Rajput said that in the first phase survey will be started in Sukkur, Ghotki, and Kashmore districts, and geo-tagging will be done using technology for the survey.

Chief Secretary said that the joint survey will be started on September 26 and instructed the Deputy Commissioners to utilize all resources and do micro planning. He said a joint survey is necessary for a comprehensive plan of rehabilitation of affected people.

It should be noted that the meeting was attended by the Senior Member Board of Revenue, Chairman Planning Board, Secretary Finance, Secretary Local Government, representatives of V Corps, NDM, and PDM officials.

The most affected districts of Sindh include Qambar Shahdadkot, Jacobabad, Larkana, Khairpur, Dadu, Nowshehro Feroze, Thatta, Badin and others.
