In a video statement, Prince William celebrates the cherished memories of Queen Elizabeth II. The Prince of Wales spoke virtually at the Earthshot Prize innovation summit in New York, saying: “I am happy to be able to join you in video form as you come together in New York for the Earthshot Prize innovation summit, though it is the saddest of circumstances that means I cannot join you in person today.
“In this difficult time, I find enormous solace in your unwavering enthusiasm, optimism, and dedication to the Earthshot Prize and our goals.
“Protecting the environment was a cause close to my grandmother’s heart. And I know she would have been delighted to hear about this event and the support you’re all giving our Earthshot finalists, the next generation of environmental pioneers.”
On September 8, William lost his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
At Balmoral Castle, the monarch passed away quietly.
