A Minnesota Timberwolves player named Anthony Edwards was fined $40,000 for making homophobic remarks on social media.
For using “offensive and insulting language” in an Instagram video broadcast earlier this month, the NBA fined the 21-year-old.
Later, Edwards apologized and took the video off.
He wrote, “I’m terribly sorry. What I said was immature, hurtful, and disrespectful.
“There is absolutely no justification for me or anyone else using that language in such a harmful manner. I had a finer upbringing than that!”
