ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has so far received 111 flights from friendly countries and international organisations carrying relief goods for flood victims.
According to Foreign Office Spokesperson, the United Arab Emirates has sent 41 flights, Turkiye 13, China four, Qatar four, the USA 21, Saudi Arabia two, Oman two and one flight each has been sent by Nepal, the United Kingdom, France, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Jordan.
The United Nations Children’s Fund has also sent two flights, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees 13 and World Food Programme dispatched three flights for the flood affected people of Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi has said that Pakistan Navy is determined to continue the rescue and relief operations till the rehabilitation of all distressed countrymen.

This was expressed by him during a visit to the flood-affected areas of district Sujawal in Sindh to review the relief operations.
Naval Chief underscored that heavy downpours during ongoing monsoon season had cost human losses and damaged infrastructure. He stressed to overcome the challenges posed by natural disaster with continuous efforts and support.
The Naval Chief was apprised with detailed review of inundated areas and on ground flood situation as well as ongoing relief and rehabilitation operations by Pakistan Navy.
United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund has issued an alert that three point four million children in Pakistan need ‘immediate, lifesaving support’ in the wake of severe floods.
According to the UNICEF, floods have impacted 16 million children in total in Pakistan. UNICEF’s official said the situation on the ground in Sindh was “beyond bleak” with many malnourished children battling diseases like diarrhea, malaria and dengue fever, as well as painful skin conditions.
