- Nike accidentally leaked England’s new World Cup kit.
- The new home kit was unveiled with captain Harry Kane wearing it.
- The shoulder pattern in sky blue and navy received less positive feedback from fans.
England’s new World Cup kit was “leaked” online, which infuriated fans on Thursday. The FA appeared to have been unaware that the Nike home and away jersey designs had been made public on the day that Gareth Southgate unveiled his final team before the competition.
The new home kit, which was unveiled with captain Harry Kane wearing it, is a tribute to the uniform we wore in 1996. It is offered in the customary Three Lions white.
The shoulder pattern in sky blue and navy received less positive feedback from fans. The socks and shorts of the whole outfit also had the same colors.
One supporter tweeted: “If it is England’s new home uniform, Nike should be ashamed of themselves! It’s terrible.”
“New England home kit looking like a sports direct special,” a second said.
13 new Nike-made uniforms from various countries, including the World Cup champions France, the Netherlands, and Portugal, were revealed in the tweet.
“I think every national team deserves an apology,” one supporter joked.
At least our red away jersey was well-liked by the crowd. According to Quentin Gesp “How do you design one of the most gorgeous away shirts while simultaneously producing a terrible home shirt? England will look fantastic in this crimson 1990s-inspired uniform when they compete in the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.”
When Kane takes the title, it better be in the red kit and not that other monster, a confident England fan further stated.
Information became available when Southgate unveiled his team for a Nations League doubleheader against Germany and Italy. Ivan Toney of Brentford received his first international call-up following an impressive start to the campaign, and Southgate supported defenders Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw despite both of them being released by Manchester United.
