In a lengthy essay for DailyMail published on Saturday, former US president Donald Trump complimented the late British queen Queen Elizabeth II’s grace, charm, and grandeur as a monarch.
Few historical personalities have “completely personified the attributes of dignity, fortitude, resolution, responsibility and patriotic commitment,” the speaker said in his tribute, adding that the Queen’s passing is “a loss felt by billions around the world.”
“Spending time with Her Majesty was one of the most extraordinary honours of my life,” Trump continued, giving a passionate recounting of his interactions with the monarch.
“I grew up in a household where Queen Elizabeth — her grace, her charm, her nobility — were deeply admired, especially by my mother, who came from Scotland,” he shared.
“The times we spent with the Queen at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle are memories Melania and I will cherish for the rest of our lives,” said the former president.
She was Britain at its finest, Trump said as he wrapped up his kind tribute. Godspeed to the monarch. Godspeed to her family. The UK is blessed by God.
The 45th president of the United States, Donald Trump, also wrote, “as we grieve, we are comforted that King Charles III will be a great and outstanding successor to his cherished mother”.
“Melania and I were blessed to get to know him well when we visited England,” he wrote.
