This week, Kate Middleton, who is married to Prince William, surprised a journalist with how down-to-earth she was. This showed that the monarchy is in “consummate hands”

Matthew Syed, a journalist, said that he took his young son Ted to the Commonwealth Games on Tuesday. He told a sweet story about meeting the future Queen by accident.

The journalist said that he heard the young man talking to a woman while he was in the toilet on the first-class train to Birmingham.

He also said, “judging by the laughter, they are having a whale of a time”

Mr. Syed said that when he was leaving the bathroom, he thanked the woman before he realised it was the woman who would become the Queen Consort.

He also said that when he asked his son later if he knew who it was, the boy said he didn’t, but that she was “really nice”

In an article for the Times, Syed wrote: “The Duchess had no idea she was chatting to the son of a journalist so I take this to reflect her character and sense of duty. The monarchy is in consummate hands.”

This week, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Princess Charlotte went to the Olympic Games for a full day of sports.
