KABUL: A bomb exploded in Afghanistan’s capital of Kabul on Saturday, injuring many people, according to reports.
The explosion happened in a busy shopping area in the western part of the city, where Shi’ite Muslims often gather.
Online video showed ambulances rushing to the area, which was close to bus hubs.

No terrorist group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, which occurred just prior to Ashura, a memorial of the martyrdom of Hussein, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad that is mostly observed by Shi’ite Muslims.
Friday, at least eight people were killed and 18 were injured in an explosion perpetrated by the Islamic State in Kabul.
