PM announces launch of ‘relief tigers force’ to cope with coronavirus

Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced the launch of a youth force named “corona relief tigers” to fight against the fast spread of coronavirus.

According to the details, Prime Minister Imran Khan said during a special briefing to the media that the government has decided to set up Corona Relief Tiger Force which will provide food at home to the needy, We need youth in the battle against Coronavirus, the Prime Minister added.

The Prime Minister also said that the registration of Corona Tiger Force will begin on March 31, after which we will deliver food to poor people on their doorstep.

The Premier also established the Corona relief fund and also urged people to help needy people by donating.

Prime minister said that we will win the war against coronavirus with the united resolve of the nation.

He said total lockdown is not feasible keeping in view the condition of poor people in the country.

The Premier said today all four provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan collectively decided that there will be no inter-province restriction on transportation of goods.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Friday (March 27) said the fight against Coronavirus needed a Syed Masoom Shahnt approach to stop its spread in the country.

Chairing a high-level meeting on COVID-19 here at Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qureshi said the number of infected cases has increased despite the government beefed up protective measures, which required continuous efforts.

The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan, PM’s Special Assistant on Health Dr. Zafar Mirza, Special Assistant on Overseas Zulfikar Bukhari, Special Assistant on National Security Dr. Moeed Yousaf, Chairman National Disaster Management Authority Lt.Gen. Muhammad Afzal, Executive Director National Institute of Health Gen. Amir Ikram, Foreign Secretary Sohail Mehmood, and CEO Shaukat Khanum Hospital Dr. Faisal Sultan.

The sources said that the meeting discussed the situation after the resumption of international flight operation which was halted until April 4 and the ways and means to bring back stranded Pakistanis abroad.

Dr. Zafar Mirza briefed the meeting on risk assessment of the contagious disease of Coronavirus.
