LAHORE: Senior bureaucrat Rai Nasir on Saturday took charge as Director General Anti-corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab.
Rai Nasir took replaced DIG Rana Abdul Jabbar who was immediately removed from his position after Chaudhary Parvez Elahi took oath of the office of Punjab Chief Minister.
Nasir has been appointed as DG ACE Punjab for the second time in coalition government of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League-Qauid (PML-Q).
Addressing officers of the anti-graft body, the bureaucrat said he would strictly follow the discipline and merit in all the investigations. He said modern technology would be utilised for fair investigations.

On July 22, hours before the election of Chief Minister Punjab, IG Punjab Rao Sardar had been replaced by Faisal Shahkar.
As per sources, IG Punjab Rao Sardar had requested CM Hamza Shehbaz to transfer him to the Federal Establishment Division. Not only him but CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddiqui, DIG Operations Lahore Sohail Chaudhry had also requested for the transfer.
Upon receiving the requests, CM Hamza had directed the officials to continue working on the slots. The sources had disclosed that IG Punjab Rao Sardar had maintained that it would be difficult to work if PTI’s candidate and PML-Q leader Parvez Elahi took the slot of CM Punjab.
