Marriyum says PTI apologised to US official Donald Lu

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb on Sunday said the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) had apologized to US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Donald Lu for alleging him of conspiring against PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s government.

In a statement, Marriyum Aurangzeb said Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif had made the big revelation about the PTI.

“We have obtained all the details and evidence of the PTI leader’s meeting and seeking apology from the US government,” she said adding that the person chanting anti-US slogans in Pakistan, was holding the feet of the US.

“Imran Khan has given the message that we have made a mistake. The relations should begin from where they were broken,” she maintained.

The information minister claimed that PTI Chairman Khan had given a message to the US diplomat that he wanted to fix the issues with the US.

Imran’s overblown oratory had been deflated, she said taking a dig at the former prime minister.

In a tweet, Khawaja Asif said the PTI had started begging from the US. The PTI asked the US to forgive and forget and let bygone be bygone, he said. He said, “If the US accepts it, then ‘long live America’, otherwise they will resume hurling abuses at it.” They had the same formula with institutions outside and inside the country, he said.
