- Apple has announced a new feature for CarPlay at gas stations.
- The first chain of gas stations to jump on the wagon is HF Sinclair.
- Users would need to download the company’s app, fill in their payment details and can pay using the car’s infotainment system.
Apple unveiled a multitude of new capabilities for CarPlay users that would be available with iOS 16 during this year’s WWDC 2022.
One of the aforementioned features is a simple way to pay for gas station fill-ups for your car.
The service will initially only be accessible in the US, and HF Sinclair is the first chain of gas stations to sign on. They operate more than 1,600 stations nationwide.
According to an HF Sinclair spokeswoman, customers must first download the company’s app, provide their payment information, and then start making purchases through the infotainment system of their vehicles.
After September, when iOS 16 is scheduled to be launched, the feature will probably go live.
