iOS 16 adopts Android’s ideology

  • iOS 16’s advanced changes indicate Apple’s submission to Android ideology.
  • Lock Screen personalized with customizable typefaces and a color-picker.
  • I didn’t expect this Apple-like OS functionality.

iOS 16 demonstrates that the company has embraced the philosophical concepts that form the basis of Google’s mobile operating system, Android.

The iOS vs. Android debate predates human civilization. Everyone has a say. Adults accept others’ differences. We can criticize them tastefully. Apple has been slowly freeing its mobile OS in recent years. This idea is evident in iOS 16. Which could sway Android consumers. This release shows Apple’s capitulation to the Android ideology through advanced modifications and more

iOS’ Lock Screen has been legendary. Who’d forget THE lock slide? It offers a smoother UI, dynamic backgrounds, and a parallax effect. Each iPhone had a similar screen. Users could only express themselves through wallpaper.

iOS 16 destroys iPhone’s Lock Screen. It gives consumers the tools to create their own vision. It’s the least Apple-like OS feature I’ve seen, and I didn’t see it coming. Apple restricts users to presets.

The Lock Screen on iOS 16 is personalized with customizable typefaces and a color-picker. No longer generic with a new wallpaper. It includes a depth effect and emoji wallpaper maker. Users should have options and be creative with their devices.

I miss Android’s Lock Screen widgets. I remember being able to check the weather, next alarm, or appointment/reminder without unlocking my phone. Swiping right on iOS opens the widgets page. The primary screen is more convenient. I don’t want to swipe or tap to see these details.

iOS 16 adds third-party Lock Screen widgets. Lock Screen sizes and places are customizable. iPhone 14 Pro versions may offer always-on display (AOD). Which would keep widgets visible when the screen is off. This would make iOS a worthy Android OS contender in this area. Apple, you’re late.
