Rebel fighters are involved in prisoner swap

We previously reported that Ukraine said it had received 144 servicemen from Russia, many of them were in critical condition as a result of their wounds.
Now, the leader of rebel fighters operating in the Donetsk area of Ukraine who are supported by Russia has said that his soldiers were part in the trade.
The leader of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, Denis Pushilin, issued the following statement through Telegram: “Today we are bringing home 144 warriors of the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Russian Federation who had been taken by the enemy.”
We turned over to Kyiv as many wounded captives as we could from the military formations of Ukraine. The bulk of those we handed over were injured.

Pushilin said that many of the liberated Ukrainian prisoners of war were members of “nationalist battalions” who had significant injuries like as limb amputations. He also stated that these individuals were freed from captivity.
