Supplementary budget passed in Balochistan Assembly

  • Provincial Finance Minister Sardar Abdul Rehman Kheteran moved 16 demands for draft.
  • The highest amount of  over Rs. 1.63 billion would be spent on the expenditures of the Home Department.

  • QUETTA: The Balochistan Assembly on Tuesday passed a supplementary budget of Rs10. 52 billion for financial year 2021-22 without any opposition and moving any cut-motion from the opposition parties.

Provincial Finance Minister Sardar Abdul Rehman Kheteran, who is also holding the portfolio of Communication and Works Department, moved 16 demands for draft one by one in the house which started one hour late of its scheduled time that was presided over by Deputy Speaker Sardar Babar Khan Musakhail.

The highest amount of  over Rs. 1.63 billion would be spent on the expenditures of the Home Department while another big allocated was in the supplementary budget of Rs. 1.30 billion for primary and secondary health sector.

According to the supplementary budget unanimously approved by the Balochistan Assembly, an amount of  over Rs. 1.17 billion for the expenditure of Specialised Health-Care and  Medical  Education has been earmarked.

The house also approved an amount of Rs.880. 12 million for the expenditures of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA). The approved budget also includes an amount of Rs. 630. 14 million for the mineral resources.

The Provincial government will spend Rs. 350. 6 million in the department of  planning and Development department while Rs. 300. 6 million on the energy sector to bear the expenditures till 30 June 2022.

The chair postponed the assembly session after approval of all the 16 demands for draft till Wednesday.
