Sindh CM directs KE to fix power crisis in Karachi

KARACHI: Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday ordered K-Electric to immediately fix the electricity crisis in the metropolis, Bol news channel reported.

Sindh CM Murad Shah directed Provincial Energy Minister Imtiaz Sheikh to talk to K-Electric, the sole power supplying company of Karachi, to control the rising crisis of electricity.

He said protracted power outages by K-Electric were creating the issue of law and order.

“K-Electric should rectify its system. How much pain will the masses bear?” the chief minister asked annoyingly.

The residents of Karachi are facing power cuts of up to 14 hours daily.

As per details, some of the areas of the mega city are experiencing electricity loadshedding of one and a half hours after every two hours. The electricity supplying company of Karachi has blamed low gas supply for the power outages.

Korangi, Landhi, Malir, Gulshan e Maimar, Gulishtan e Johar, Liaquatabad, New Karachi, North Karachi, PIB Colony, Baldia Town and Orangi Town are facing worst loadshedding.

Meanwhile, days after the announcement of market closure by 8:30pm, K-Electric has announced its schedule for loadshedding in the city.

Amid the soaring power cuts issue in the metropolitan city, the government has announced a few steps to lessen the miseries of the people including the closure of markets by 8:30pm.

K-Electric has announced the schedule for residential areas along with commercial markets.

All the exempted areas of the city will also now face power cuts for three hours daily.
