White House issues a warning against “rob women of their rights”

  • The Biden administration vowed to oppose Republican efforts in the House of Representatives.
  • The White House director criticized such initiatives as a GOP campaign to restrict women’s rights.
  • However, such legislation lacks the 60 votes necessary to end a filibuster in the Senate.

Following the Supreme Court’s historic decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, the Biden administration has vowed to oppose Republican efforts in the House of Representatives to establish a countrywide ban on abortions at 15 weeks, branding it an effort to rob women of their rights.

Some House Republicans who oppose abortion rights are proposing legislation. To enact a similar abortion ban statewide after the Supreme Court reversed the historic decision.

Even while such legislation lacks the 60 votes necessary to end a filibuster in the Senate.

The effort to enact such a prohibition is noteworthy considering that Republicans stand a good chance of regaining control of the House.

Jen Klein, the director of the White House Gender Policy Council, criticized such initiatives on Monday. He framed them as a GOP campaign to restrict women’s rights.

“GOP Leader McCarthy and Vice President Pence have already declared their support for a congressionally-passed nationwide ban on abortion.

“So let’s be clear: There are only two possible outcomes here. Either the House and Senate pass legislation making Roe the law of the land, or the House and Senate support ultra-MAGA policies.

Either Congress will uphold the rights of women everywhere or it will violate those rights everywhere, “She spoke.

High-level staffers, once again including Jen Klein, will meet with women’s groups.
