Weather and rainfall update in Pakistan

Weather will remain dry in most parts of the country whereas northern areas including Islamabad, upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, and Kashmir will receive rain showers, as per rainfall update by PMD.

Heavy rainfall with strong winds took place in KPK, Punjab, Kashmir, Zhob, and Islamabad in the last 24 hours, according to weather update by PMD.

Rainfall recorded in different areas in the last 24 hours (in mm) were Chakwal (45), Faisalabad (44), Attock (40), Mangla (37), Islamabad (21-34), Layyah (34), Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin (27), Sialkot (27), Rawalpindi (22-25), Narowal (25), Okara (23), Murree (20), Toba Tek Singh (10), Sahiwal (18), Khanewal (16), Lahore (13-14), Kusoor (12), Gujranwala (11), Multan (10), Bahawalpur (7), Sargodha (4), D.G. Khan (2), Rahim Yar Khan (1), Peshawar (300, D.I. Khan (22), Bannu (27), Para Chinar (15), Balakot (4), Malam Jabba (3), Kashmir (7-35), Zhob (8).
The minimum temperature recorded in the last 24 hours (in Degrees Celsius) were Kalat (-3), Kalam (-2), Astore and Para Chinar (-1).

Lahore experienced darkness as over 200 electricity supply feeders damaged due to heavy rain in Lahore last night.

PMD predicts more rain from Wednesday to Friday in Pakistan

A strong westerly weather system entered in Pakistan on Tuesday evening that will produce more rain for 2-3 days (Wednesday-Friday).

According to the press release issued by Pakistan Meteorological Department, under the influence of this weather system:

Widespread rain/wind thunderstorm with (snowfall over the hills) is expected in all districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, and Punjab from Wednesday to Friday. A hail storm is also expected at few places during the period.

Rain wind-thunderstorm (with isolated heavy falls) occurred in Quetta, Zhob, Pashin, Harnai, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Panjgur, Ziarat, Kalat, Mastung from Tuesday (evening) to Thursday, while in Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, and Shaheed Benazirabad on Tuesday (evening) and Wednesday.
