According to the BOL News report, the parliamentary leader said, “Whether we stay in the opposition or the government, we will rebel against such movements. It has been 22 years, and the matter of interest is still not resolved. The Shariah Court gave the verdict against it and the government should have celebrated such decisions.” The JUI-f leader demanded the Shariah system to be followed in the house. He said he will oppose any move against Islam or Sharia.
“It should be kept in mind that the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has filed a petition against the decision,” the parliamentary leader exclaimed. On what basis, does the National Bank go to court? he questioned.
“The government has a group of ulema in the alliance. If there is any ambiguity in this decision, let us know. We declare our separation from the decision to file an appeal,” the JUI-F leader warned the house.
He urged that the Supreme Court of Pakistan not to cease the lawsuits on interest and stated, “We are bound by the court’s rulings, but if the people do not want an economic system based on Shariah, the government must take a clear stance on the appeal against interest.”
