KARACHI: The residents of Karachi are facing power cuts of up to 14 hours daily, Bol news channel reported on Monday.
As per details, some of the areas of the mega city are experiencing electricity loadshedding of one and a half hours after every two hours. The sole electricity supplying company of Karachi, K-Electric has blamed low gas supply for the power outages.
Korangi, Landhi, Malir, Gulshan e Maimar, Gulishtan e Johar, Liaquatabad, New Karachi, North Karachi, PIB Colony, Baldia Town and Orangi Town are facing worst loadshedding.
While, the areas exempted from loadshedding including Gulshan e Iqbal, Defence Housing Authority and North Nazimabad are also facing eight hours loadshedding.
The soaring power cuts have deepened miseries of Karachiites. As per details, different areas of the city were plunged into darkness for around 18 hours, on June 10.

However, areas like PIB Colony, Jamshed Road, Ibn-e-Sina, Gulshan-e-Zahoor, Baldia Town, Ittehad Town, Qaim Khani Colony, and Gulshan-e-Ghazi faced nightlong load shedding.
While, Azizabad, Hussainabad, few blocks of Liaquatabad, Lyari Chakiwara, Kumhar Wara, Singolin, Jhatpat Market and Arafat were also plunged into darkness last night.
Previously, after the announcement of market closure by 8:30 pm, K-Electric had also revealed its schedule for load shedding in the city, adding to the woes of Karachiites.
Amid the load shedding issue in the metropolitan city, the government had announced a few steps to lessen the miseries of the people including the closure of markets by8:30 pm.
