Security forces kill seven terrorists in North Waziristan

RAWALPINDI: The media wing of armed forces, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Sunday said security forces killed at least seven terrorists in North Waziristan district.

“On June 26, 2022, fire exchange took place between security forces and terrorists in general area Ghulam Khan Kalle, North Waziristan district. Troops effectively engaged the terrorists and resultantly seven of them were killed,” the ISPR said adding that weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in several terrorist activities against security forces.

The armed forces’ media wing said during intense exchange of fire, Subedar Munir Hussain, 44, resident of Parachinar, Kurram Agency, and Havildar Babu Khan, 38, resident of Dera Ismail Khan, having fought gallantly embraced shahadat (martyrdom).

Area clearance was being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the vicinity, it added.

On June 25, the ISPR had said at least four terrorists were killed in an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) by security forces in Dossali area of North Waziristan district.

According to the media wing of armed forces, weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed terrorists.

The terrorists remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces, the ISPR had said.

Earlier this month, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa had said that nothing could compensate for martyrdom of the armed forces personnel.

Gen Bajwa had said this while addressing the GHQ Investiture ceremony, held at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.

He had said that neither any nation could pay for the sacrifices of Shuhada nor any money could be compensation for their sacrifices, adding that no privilege or assistance could be an alternative to the sacrifices of Shuhada. He had conferred military awards on army personnel over their acts of gallantry during operations and meritorious services, rendered for the nation.
