KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader and former Sindh governor Imran Ismail on Sunday said his party would welcome its former allies the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan and Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) back, if they wanted to come back.
“The dreams shown to the MQM-P turned out to be lies. While, the BAP is also standing at an interjunction,” he said in a statement while commenting on the local bodies elections in Sindh.
He said the MQM-P should not wait for a phone call and make a decision for itself, as no promise made to it would be fulfilled.
On reports of rigging and skirmishes in Sindh’s LB polls, the PTI leader said the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was not taking notice of the irregularities. He claimed that PTI would stand victorious, transparent elections were held in the province. He said solution of all the problems lied in transparent elections.

Imran Ismail said the PTI would win by-election on the National Assembly seat NA-245, which fell vacant after demise of PTI MNA Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain. He said the masses could compare turn out of the NA-240 by-poll, which was boycotted by the PTI, and NA-245 by-election. Turn out in NA-240 by-election was less than 10 per cent.
He also claimed that the ECP would give its verdict in the foreign funding case against the PTI.
Earlier, the local administration provided security to former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in Lahore on Sunday.
Four vehicles of the Elite Force provided security to Imran Khan, while a jammer vehicle, a fire tender and a Rescue 1122 vehicle accompanied his convoy.
The administration provided extra security to the former PM on locations of his party convention.
A traffic police pilot led convoy of the PTI chief.
It is pertinent here to mention that the PTI had sought security from the Lahore CCPO a day ago.
On June 25, the PTI had requested security for Khan during his Lahore visit for election campaigning.
The PTI had written a letter to the Lahore CCPO seeking security for Imran Khan from 4 pm to 10 pm during his visit to the provincial capital on Sunday.
Imran Khan was schedule to address public gatherings at four places in Lahore in connection with the by-elections. He had to campaign in PP-168, PP-167, PP-170 and PP-158 constituencies in connection with the by-polls.
Imran Khan has decided to give a tough time to dissident members in the upcoming Punjab Assembly by-elections. He had directed the party leadership to mobilize party workers in the constituencies.
